Hudson Harbour strangulation: Poughkeepsie man sentenced to 23 years in prison

An alleged suicide pact, stalking and the ultimate strangulation death of a mother and grandmother. 

All of which resulted in a two-decade prison sentence for a Poughkeepsie man who plead guilty to first-degree manslaughter in the strangulation death of 49-year-old Jill Meltzer.

Charles D'Amico was at her apartment, the day after he killed Meltzer on Aug. 16, 2017. Town of Poughkeepsie police found him at the apartment when they went there during a welfare check.
