Dutchess County man charged with assaulting baby

BEEKMAN, N.Y. — A 24-year-old Beekman man has been accused of assaulting a baby, according to the Dutchess County Sheriff’s Office.
Tyler R. Papp has been charged with assault, a felony, and resisting arrest, a misdemeanor, deputies said. He was arrested on Monday, Jan. 24, deputies said.
Deputies said that at about 7:50 p.m. deputies went to a residence in the town of Beekman for a report of a domestic dispute. Once they got there, deputies discovered that a 2-month-old baby had been injured. Papp had initially fled the scene, but was found a short time later, and was taken into custody after further investigation and law enforcement interviews. Papp was accused of striking the baby, causing facial injuries, deputies said.
