Child rapist gets maximum sentence under law

A man convicted of raping and sexually abusing two teenagers has received the maximum sentence allowed.

Patrick H. Ciancanelli, homeless at the time of his arrest in May, was sentenced Friday to a total of 21 years in prison by Dutchess County Judge Edward McLoughlin, according to Dutchess County Senior Assistant District Attorney Kristine Whelan.
